Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Casual Administrative Clerk on a term basis (Up to 6 months with the possibility of extension) in the Underwriting Department in our Saskatoon Office.

JOB FUNCTION

This position assists with the activities required to support the day-to-day operations and needs of Saskatchewan Blue Cross. The successful candidate will provide support to the Underwriting Department by assisting with general office duties, administrative and data entry support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides administrative support to the team, including filing, responding to correspondence, telephone and email inquiries, creating letters, memos, processing of forms, documentation and reports as required
  • Updates and maintains records, compiling and verifying information
  • Organizes documents and files
  • Sorts and distributes mail
  • Compiles and inputs confidential data
  • Collaborates with the department to ensure the smooth and effective processing of organizational information
  • Handles varied work, subject to shifting priorities
  • Works independently with general supervision
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Preference will be given to those individuals working towards completion of a University Degree program
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and practices and benefit administration would be considered assets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential
  • Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn
