Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for multiple full time Quality Assurance Specialists in the Information Systems and Technology Department located in our Saskatoon Office. There is the need for this position in a permanent and temporary (up to 24 months with the possibility of extension) capacity.

 

SUMMARY

Working as part of the application development team under the guidance of the Lead Application Developer and reporting directly to the Manager, IS&T, this position is responsible for supporting the quality assurance for a large scale new build application system project. The successful incumbent will be committed to quality standards and participate in the project team by supporting others, sharing information and contributing to goals.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, write and execute test plans/cases for automated and manual testing
  • Develop automated test frameworks and tests to grow and maintain automated test coverage across the product platform
  • Take up new initiatives & work on proof of concepts regarding latest tools & automation frameworks as needed
  • Drive operational excellence by focusing on continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain a mindset of continuous quality improvements by highlighting deficiencies and proactively recommending changes in tools, training, process, reporting and employee training
  • Work on various assignments within timelines by contributing from planning to delivery stages with ease
  • Regular review and assessment of project goals, accomplishments and priorities to meet personal, departmental and organizational objectives
  • Perform other related projects and duties as required
     

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree, Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in a related field, and a minimum of 5 years’ directly related experience.  An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered
  • Previous experience in supporting large scale projects. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working on projects converting from a legacy to low code modern platform.
  • Understanding and experience in creating test scripts using various tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of creating and conducting automated, regression and functional testing
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to understand and document program requirements
  • Ability and desire to work in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work within time constraints to meet strict deadlines
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
