JOB FUNCTION

Working as part of the Group Administration team under the guidance of the Team Lead, and reporting directly to the Manager, Group Administration, the successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely generation of new contracts and existing contract amendments. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word is essential to this position as the daily work requires editing, formatting and proofing using this software application.  

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and verify information for the development and maintenance of contracts and booklets for new and existing clients
  • Select appropriate contract template wording based on plan design and use functions within Word software to edit information
  • Work within a team to conduct peer audits to ensure accuracy of data
  • Prepare, print and collate booklets and/or group contracts
  • Assist in the knowledge transfer and training of new employees within the Group Administration area
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of training documents
  • Support and work effectively within a team structure under general supervision
  • Remain current with industry knowledge
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate program in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry, in an office environment, or with the administration of group plans would be considered an asset
  • Must possess excellent Word processing and computer skills with a proven ability to easily learn new software programs
  • Strong analytical ability, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet frequent deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
