8,000 Litres of Sanitizer Donated to First Responders
During the onsite of the COVID-19 outbreak Saskatchewan Blue Cross was fortunate to partner with Lucky Bastard Distillers to offset the cost to produce and supply the province of Saskatchewan with locally made hand sanitizer.
As our first responders do not always have immediate access to soap and water, it was determined to prioritize the delivery of the hand sanitizer to them and other organizations that support the vulnerable in our community. All of the finished product were donated to our local health care professionals caring for patients across Saskatchewan!
Through our partnership with Lucky Bastard, we are proud to say we have donated over 8,000 litres of hand sanitizer to organizations representing First Responders across Saskatchewan.
30,000 Ear Guard Straps Reached Hospitals & Front Line Workers
Saskatchewan Blue Cross partnered with the COVID-19 Hospital Fund and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to fund an initiative to help support front line workers across Saskatchewan. Through Saskatchewan Blue Cross’ commitment, 30,000 ear guard straps will be produced and distributed to hospitals across the province.
Our support of this important PPE enhancement will be invested in real time to respond to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 urgent care needs. These ear guard straps are an innovative way of preserving PPE while simultaneously assisting in keeping staff and patients comfortable and safe.
SBC is proud to be able to respond to this immediate need by providing comfort and safety to the dedicated medical and support teams on the front line who are providing compassionate care in the
fight against this pandemic.
3,000 Students Received Reusable Water Bottles
With the back to school plan in place and new COVID-19 restrictions to adhere to, the Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation put into action a water bottle drive with a goal to collect water bottles for every student in their schools. As many families will find it challenging to buy school supplies in general, why add additional expenses.
Saskatchewan Blue Cross was eager to help and donated 3000 water bottles to the cause. These reusable water bottles will provide a safe way for children to stay hydrated during the school day.
