Why Add Custom Options When Getting Married?

Prescription Drugs

As you grow older together, make sure you don’t have to worry about the cost of prescriptions you may need in the future. This custom option benefit offers security even if employer benefits end.

Health insurance is similar to home or car insurance—you hope you’ll never need to use it, but it’s there for you in the event something unexpected and unfortunate happens.

Health insurance rates do go up as people age, but at Saskatchewan Blue Cross, they’ll never increase according to usage.

Getting Married? You Need To Know...

All insurance plans have important details in each contract. We want to be transparent and make it easy to understand how these affect you, our member.

  • Consider a couple's plan.

With a couples' plan, you may enjoy cost savings, since couples’ plan premiums are often less than two individual personal plans. You can claim more easily, with just one policy number and one claim process.

  • Combine group/employer insurance with a personal plan.

You can coordinate the benefits of a personal plan and your group/employer plan—use them at the same time to get up to 100% reimbursement. You may also have specific needs that can be met by a customizable personal plan, which group/employer insurance doesn’t cover.

By combining a group/employer insurance plan with a personal health plan, you will be able to stay covered after retirement or if your situation changes and you no longer qualify for group/employer coverage. Getting the personal health plan now means less hassle later.

  • Starting a family?

Set up your family plan now, enjoy the benefits as a couple, and add your child when they arrive!

Don’t forget to hang on to the Policy booklet so you can access it should you need it in the future.
