Retire with confidence: three levels of coverage to choose from — Basic, Classic, or Enhanced.

With optional benefits and 36 possible plan combinations, you can tailor your plan to match your needs. This plan is available to those aged 50+ who are approaching retirement or have recently left a group benefits plan. To be eligible, coverage must begin within 90 days of the end of your group benefits.

Individual Assistance Program (IAP)

Coverage provides access to a variety of mental health and wellness supports. Homewood Health’s IAP provides confidential, professional services for a broad range of personal and family challenges by telephone, in person and online.

Virtual Care

Coverage provides access to virtual care services through Cleveland Clinic Express Care Online (ECO). ECO connects members with a Cleveland Clinic Canada nurse practitioner to receive a diagnosis and/or prescription for non-emergency medical conditions. Members can seek virtual care support as often as needed.

Blue Advantage®

Even with extended health coverage, sometimes you may need to pay for health and dental products and services. With your personal health insurance plan from Saskatchewan Blue Cross, you can save on healthcare-related products and services at participating providers across Canada, even if they aren’t covered under your benefits plan!

How it works

Blue Advantage provides savings on the total cost of products and services from participating providers. Members can present their Blue Cross ID card and mention the Blue Advantage program to their provider to receive the discount. Within the app store, search for SK Blue Cross: Personal. Our app logo depicts a blue cross on a white background with the word Personal underneath the cross. Select Install and the app will be downloaded to your device.

Who is considered a dependent? Icon/UI/plus-circle

For Personal members: An applicant’s partner, unmarried child up to 18 years of age (or up to age 25 if a full-time student at an accredited educational institution) or an incapacitated dependent.  

For Group plan members: An applicant’s partner, unmarried child up to 21 years of age (or up to age 26 if a full-time student at an accredited educational institution) or any disabled child unable to leave the care of the policyholder. 

Who can apply for the Guaranteed Acceptance plan? Icon/UI/plus-circle

The Guaranteed Acceptance Personal Health Plan is available to any resident of Saskatchewan with a valid Saskatchewan Health Care Card. There is no age restriction or timeframe requirement (after leaving another benefits plan) applicable. There is no review of medical history required.

What is the Individual Assistance Program (IAP) or Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP) and what’s included? Icon/UI/plus-circle

Homewood Health’s IAP and EFAP provide you and your eligible family members with a wide variety of mental health, wellness and personal life supports. Some of the services you have access to as a Saskatchewan Blue Cross plan member include, but are not limited to:

  • Counselling services to assist with depression, anxiety, grief/bereavement, and more
  • Sentio iCBT, an internet-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (iCBT) program designed to provide support for mild to moderate depression, anxiety and other mental health issues
  • Life Smart Coaching service for everyday challenges such as financial and family care, smoking cessation, lifestyle changes and nutrition, and more
  • A tailored library of online resources
How does the Member Referral Program work? Icon/UI/plus-circle

After joining the program through our platform partner, Referral Rock, you’ll receive a unique referral link. All you need to join the program is your email address – you won’t need to create a password to revisit your member dashboard. Members can share your link with personal contacts, inviting them to apply for a personal health plan. If one of your referrals chooses to purchase a plan, both you and the person you refer will earn a $50 gift card.

You can always access your unique referral link by visiting your Member Dashboard. Login to your personal Member Portal and, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the purple box. Use the ‘Refer Now!’ button to login to your Member Dashboard (this works even if you’ve already created an account).

What is Virtual Care and what is included? Icon/UI/plus-circle

Virtual Care, also referred to as telemedicine, allows patients to receive care from a provider virtually via a video or phone consult without having to visit a clinic in-person.  Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Express Care Online allows patients to connect live with a nurse practitioner to get a diagnosis or medical advice for non-emergency health conditions.

A Cleveland Clinic Canada nurse practitioner can diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications for non-emergency conditions like:

  • Flu
  • Allergies
  • Sinus issues
  • Cough
  • Common cold
  • Pink eye
  • Anxiety/Depression
  • Acute diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting
  • Rashes, skin problems, burns, insect bites

After your assessment, if needed, you can receive:

  • Lab and imaging requisitions
  • Prescriptions sent to your preferred pharmacy
  • Referrals to specialists
  • Case coordination with Cleveland Clinic Canada
  • Case coordination with Homewood Health (with your consent) for mental health and wellness support
