As Presenting Sponsor of the 2019 Day of Caring we are proud to have supported more than 250 volunteers who worked on 26 projects to make a positive difference in our community.
Day of Caring is a unique opportunity for our employees to take part in meaningful, hands-on volunteer projects with local community organizations. This event is an opportunity for participants to experience the rewards of volunteerism, demonstrating what a difference they can make in our community by working together.
Our volunteer team was out in full force this this year transforming the outdoor patio space at the Friendship Inn, as well as creating a wonderful, calming space for their staff by refreshing their existing staff room.
We have participated in several United Way Day of Caring projects over the years with organizations such as YMCA of Saskatoon, AIDS Saskatoon, Saskatoon Council on Aging, Saskatoon Interval House, and more.
Each year, Saskatchewan Blue Cross holds a fall dinner and silent auction in support of the United Way. Staff members collect auction items from suppliers and partners, and are invited to show off their skills by donating baking, artwork and other craft items. The event is one of the highlights of the year in the organization and during our 2018 campaign we are proud to have raised over $86,000 for the United Way of Saskatoon & Area.
