Support when you need it, built into your health benefits
Taking care of your health should feel simple, supportive, and accessible. Your Saskatchewan Blue Cross Personal Health Plan includes expanded services that help make mental and physical healthcare easier to reach when you need it most. These built-in supports are designed to meet you where you are, whether you are managing a personal challenge or looking for quick medical advice.
Mental health and life support through the Individual Assistance Program (IAP)
Life can be unpredictable. The Individual Assistance Program (IAP) offers confidential counselling and coaching to help members and their eligible family members navigate personal, family, work-related, and emotional challenges.
What you can access through IAP:
- Short-term, solution-focused counselling and coaching
- An average of four sessions per concern, with no limit on the number of concerns you can seek support for
- Enhanced Mental Health Care, offering up to 20 specialized counselling sessions per concern when clinically appropriate
- Digital tools, including internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy programs, courses, podcasts, and self-guided resources
- Immediate counselling support during urgent or crisis situations
Support is available for concerns such as stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, grief, financial pressures, and more. The goal is to give you practical, timely help that fits your life.
Around-the-clock Virtual Care
Getting medical advice should not be complicated. With Virtual Care, members and eligible insured dependents have 24/7 access to a nurse practitioner from anywhere in Canada. Whether it is late at night, during a busy workday, or while you are travelling, help is available.
Virtual Care can support you with:
- Medical consultations and assessments
- Prescriptions when clinically appropriate
- Lab or imaging requisitions
- Referrals and guidance through the healthcare system
Virtual Care offers a convenient option when in-person appointments are unavailable, when schedules are tight or when travel creates a challenge.
