Supporting Saskatchewan Families

Saskatchewan Blue Cross is pleased to announce a $30-thousand donation to the Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan (RMHS) For Every Family Capital Campaign.

“Saskatchewan Blue Cross shares the vision of Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan to support the health and well-being of families from communities across Saskatchewan,” said Todd Peterson, VP Sales and Marketing. “We consider it a privilege to partner with RMHS to provide a friendly, warm and safe refuge for Saskatchewan families facing a medical crisis so they can be present with their little ones.”

“RMHS provides a home-away-from-home for families of sick children traveling to Saskatoon to receive medical treatment,” said Jerry Grandey, co-chair of the RMHS Capital Campaign. “When children are sick or injured RMHS gives them what they need most – the presence of their families.”

The $30-thousand contribution will highlight the value of the more than 125 volunteers who dedicate 6,438 hours to the House each year – the equivalent of 3.3 full time employees. Saskatchewan Blue Cross looks forward to collaborating with RMHS on the development of a sustainable recognition program for the volunteers – the Heart of the Home. “It is the dedication of our many volunteers that helps RMHS stand out in the community as an organization focused on bettering the lives of our provincial neighbours,” said Tammy Forrester, Executive Director of RMHS. “Our volunteers are the reason we can deliver the quality of services that we do to Saskatchewan families.”

Grandey concluded, “Given all that Saskatchewan Blue Cross and its employees have done for the House over the years, their decision to sponsor the many volunteers who make the House a home is very fitting.”
